Hope’s story starts in Golden.

Hope was raised in Colorado. Her parents moved the family to Golden when she was 8, and she went to Mitchell Elementary, Golden Junior High and Golden High School.

By 14, she knew she wanted to work with animals. Her mother called a local veterinary hospital to ask if there was a way to help. Dr. Francis said yes, and Hope began volunteering at Francis Veterinary Hospital.

Today she lives in Westminster and cares for pets across the north metro. She has many years of hands-on experience, and she now leads a small team of sitters who care for pets to her standard.

Clean rooms, every time

She cleaned the exam rooms and the front lobby, the everyday work that keeps a clinic running.

Helping with X-rays

She assisted with taking X-rays, working hands-on with the animals who came in.

Ear and tail procedures

She helped during ear and tail procedures for certain breeds.

Watching surgeries

She observed surgeries at the hospital as a teenager.

Hope’s mission, in her words

Hope was wonderful caring for our feral cat while we were away. It was so reassuring to see that our cat was being cared for with such patience and compassion.

How Hope works

Four habits she never skips

These are the principles Hope and every sitter she trained follow, for one night or two weeks.

  1. Walk through

A free visit to your home before the first booking. Hope or one of her sitters meets your pets and learns feeding, medications, litter, walk routes, locks and every quirk.

  2. Write it down

Everything goes into a written care plan with doses and times, your vet and your emergency contacts, so nothing depends on memory.

  3. Keep you posted

At least one text and photo every day on overnights and after every drop-in. If something seems wrong, you hear about it right away.

  4. Leave it better

A photo walkthrough on arrival and departure, spaces the sitter used cleaned, the bed stripped. If a mistake is made, Hope owns it.

A small team, trained by Hope

Hope leads a small team of sitters. Each one is a close friend who shares her standard of care, and Hope personally vets and trains every one of them. They all follow the same written care plan, the same update routine and the same house rules, and Hope stays personally accountable for every visit.

You’ll always know who’s coming before a visit. If you’d like the same sitter as last time, just ask, and Hope will do her best to make it happen.

Misha, Oreo, and the pets who need more

Hope’s own dogs are Misha, an eight-year-old Alaskan Malamute, and Oreo, a fifteen-year-old Jack Russell and Chihuahua mix. Both have been with her since they were eight weeks old. Caring for a senior dog every day is part of her normal life.

That patience is why families with harder cases call her. Hope specializes in:

  • Blind and deaf dogs
  • Diabetic pets
  • Feral cats
  • Pets with cancer
