Long workdays are hard on a dog at home

Eight or nine hours is a long time to hold it, and a long time with nothing to do. A midday walk breaks up the day.

The trouble with walking apps is that every visit can be a stranger nobody vouches for. Your dog has to meet someone new at the door, and you have to explain the leash, the route and the neighbor’s dog all over again.

A stranger at the door

No strangers from an app. Every walker is someone Hope knows personally and trained, and you’ll know who’s coming before each walk.

A route your dog doesn’t know

Your walker takes the route you already use, at the pace your dog likes, and stays away from the spots you’d rather skip.

Problems nobody mentions

A limp, an upset stomach, a gate left loose. If something seems off, you hear about it right away.

Wondering if the walk happened

You get a text and a photo after every walk, so you know how it went without having to ask.

How walks work

Your dog’s walk, done your way

Every walk follows the care plan you write together at the free walkthrough. Here’s how it goes.

  1. Meet

Hope or one of her sitters visits your home before the first walk to meet your dog and learn the leash, the harness, the route and any quirks, like the mail carrier or the dog two doors down.

  2. Plan

Everything goes into a written care plan: walk times, where to go, how far, treats, water and your vet’s contact details.

  3. Walk

Your walker lets themselves in, walks your dog on the usual route at your dog’s pace, then refreshes water and locks up.

  4. Update

A text and a photo after every walk. If your dog limped, skipped a potty break or just seemed off, you hear about it.

Going away? Hope’s team also offers overnight pet sitting, so your dog keeps the same care plan and the same routine while you travel.

Walks through a Colorado year

Front Range weather changes fast, so every walk is adjusted to the day.

  • Summer: shorter walks in the heat, shade where possible, a hand on the pavement to check it isn’t too hot
  • Winter: slower on icy sidewalks, and paws wiped of ice melt and snow when you get back inside
  • Afternoon storms: the walk is moved or shortened, and you’re told why
  • Fresh water out after every walk

Seniors and dogs that need a gentler walk

Not every dog wants a long, fast walk. Hope specializes in pets that need more care, and she’ll talk through your dog’s needs at the walkthrough.

  • Senior dogs at a slower pace
  • Blind and deaf dogs
  • Medication schedules
  • Dogs with cancer or other illness

Reactive or anxious dog? Tell Hope about it at the walkthrough and she’ll tell you honestly what she can do. Walk rates are set there too, before you book anything.

Dog walking questions

Who will walk my dog?

Hope or one of the small team of sitters she has personally vetted and trained. You’ll always know ahead of time who’s coming, and you can ask for the same walker as last time. Hope tries to make that happen whenever she can.

How much does dog walking cost?

Walk rates depend on how often you need walks and what your dog needs. Hope confirms the rate at the free walkthrough, before you book anything.

Can you walk my senior or reactive dog?

Senior dogs are welcome, at whatever pace suits them. For reactive or anxious dogs, tell Hope what sets your dog off at the walkthrough and she’ll tell you honestly whether she’s the right fit.

What happens on very hot or icy days?

Your walker adjusts the walk to the weather. Hot days mean shorter walks and checking the pavement first. Icy days mean a slower walk and wiping ice melt off your dog’s paws afterward. If a walk is shortened, you’re told why.

How will I know the walk happened?

You get a text and a photo after every walk. If anything seems off with your dog, Hope contacts you right away.
